When we thought about what we wanted in
some lamellar plates we looked around to see what people were wearing. It
seems that the "tombstone" plate was the most popular. Everyone
else is selling Aluminum plates in 1.0 to 1.2mm thickness for $ .55 to $ .75 each.
Our plate is the same size as most tombstone plates as you can see in the photo but
comes in 1.5mm 6061-T6 Aircraft Aluminum for added strength and durability for less
than what everyone else will sell you a thinner plate for. We also carry a
super tough 22ga hardened brass plate for $1.60 each.
The average kit
(6' 200 lbs) requires between 450 and 500 plates. We offer ours in sets of 50 plates each.
How many plates do I need?
An easy way to estimate the number you need is to use a simple sheet of 8.5" X 11" paper. Tape them together and cover all areas you wish to cover. One sheet is roughly equal to 60 plates. Cover what you need and add 1 pack of 50 to ensure that you will not have to pay shipping on a single pack later, not to mention the frustration of not being able to finish your brand new kit!!
